COMPARISON

The best HRMS & payroll software in the UAE — how to decide

Every vendor claims the title, so here is something more useful: the capability checklist a UAE employer should measure any HRMS against, and an honest account of where eHRMS wins and where it does not.

THE CHECKLIST

Twelve capabilities a UAE HRMS must actually have

Score any shortlisted system against these. Anything it cannot do becomes work your team absorbs forever.

Where eHRMS is the strongest option

  • Your complexity is UAE compliance rather than multi-country payroll
  • You run more than one trade licence, or mix mainland with free zone, DIFC or ADGM
  • You have deskless or multi-site staff needing biometric, GPS or face attendance
  • Your workforce needs Arabic across documents and the mobile app, not just menus
  • You want customisation without change-request invoices
  • You want implementation and support from people in your time zone

Where it is not

  • You need deep in-country payroll across many countries outside the GCC — a global platform will serve you better, and we will say so on the call
  • You want a free tool for three employees — the statutory engine is more than you need
  • You are looking for recruitment-only software — our ATS is part of a broader platform, not a standalone product

FAQ

Choosing an HRMS in the UAE

The honest answer is that it depends on where your complexity sits. For companies whose difficulty is UAE compliance — WPS filing, gratuity, visa expiries, Emiratisation, multiple trade licences — a UAE-built system like eHRMS carries those as product features rather than as configuration you maintain. For organisations whose main problem is payroll across many countries outside the GCC, a global platform will fit better. Test both against your own hardest scenarios.

WPS SIF generation with pre-submission validation, gratuity and end-of-service to Articles 51–53, the full statutory leave catalogue with automatic accrual, document expiry tracking with escalating alerts, overtime at the correct multipliers, Emiratisation ratio tracking per establishment, bilingual English/Arabic output, and employee self-service. Anything missing from that list becomes manual work.

UAE-resident cloud suits most organisations and launches fastest. On-premise still makes sense where internal policy or a regulator requires it — eHRMS supports both.

It varies with headcount, the modules you enable and how you deploy. Be wary of vendors who will not put a number in writing before a procurement process, and equally of headline per-seat prices that exclude implementation, training and support. Ask for a total first-year figure.

Yes — from five employees. WPS deadlines, gratuity arithmetic and document fines apply at any size, usually to companies with nobody whose actual job is HR.
